Chew-Proof Dog Beds For Your PoochWouldn't it be wonderful if you never had to replace your dog's bed? And wouldn't it be great if they would stop chewing on the bed you so lovingly and carefully selected for them? Of course, it's in a dog's nature to chew and gnaw on things - sometimes, unfortunately, even their own beds! If this is a problem for your dog, however, there is a way around it: find a good, durable "chew-proof" dog bed. Most dog beds are, of course, soft and comfy, creating a clean, tempting atmosphere in which to take a long snooze every day. But if your dog is a chewer, there are some beds that even his sharpest teeth won't be able to puncture. Look especially for beds constructed with poly resin, metal, or aluminum to discourage chewing. Also, some beds are made with the fabric protected by a "sleeve" of metal or poly resin to become more bite-resistant. The bed itself will still stay soft and comfy, but your dog won't leave teeth marks all over it or tear out the insides, either! You might also want to stay away from the "frou-frou" of dog beds in case you have a resident "chewer." The more delicate the bed, the easier it will be for those teeth to completely destroy your dog's newest treat. So save some money ahead of time by knowing your dog's chewing and gnawing habits and select a bed that will be comfortable, but sturdier and more appropriate for those with the tendency to chew. And remember, keep your dog's toys and plastic dog bones handy to keep the focus away from the new bed! |
